Following a closed tender, OKRE Development selected a general contractor
for its new residential investment – a contemporary urban townhouse
Rynek Wildecki 3. Democo Poland, part of the Belgian Democo Group, will be responsible for the construction of the building. Located in the heart of Poznań’s Wilda district, the project includes the construction of 60 apartments and 3 commercial units. The planned completion date is the 3rd quarter of 2020.
Rynek Wildecki 3 is OKRE Development’s third residential investment in Poznań, following the currently developing Saperska 30 and the completed Na Skraju Lasu estate. It is also another Poznań project by the acclaimed Ultra Architects studio, winners of last year’s Jan Baptysta Quadro Architectural Award of the City of Poznań, among others. Despite the small scale, the investor set a number of challenges for the investment – the building is being constructed in the urbanistically and socially demanding context of a historic 19th-century district, in the immediate vicinity of a significant religious building and an iconic market square for residents: “Our goal is to add value to the places where we build. We respect the past and strive to responsibly integrate into the existing urban fabric, using a contemporary design language. Details matter to us, as do practical utility solutions,” says Małgorzata Deiksler, Head of Development at OKRE.
The areas of the 60 apartments in the townhouse range from 33 to 146 m2 for a comfortable apartment located on the top floor of the building. The most distinctive features of the building are the rhythmically arranged, comfortable, wood-finished loggias on the facade, and the tall – over two-meter – windows. The ground floor of the townhouse is entirely dedicated to retail and service purposes. A two-level underground parking garage has been designed beneath the townhouse.
Democo Poland, a construction company operating on the Polish market since 1994 and based in Tarnowo Podgórne, belongs to the family-owned Belgian Democo capital group, which has been active on the European market for nearly 40 years. The Polish branch currently employs 60 people, including qualified engineering staff and specialized construction worker teams.
